Yelp’s Guide to Cincy’s Most Delicious Donuts

October may just be our favorite month of the year. In addition to Halloween, fall festivals and all things pumpkin, it’s also National Donut Month! (As if we needed an excuse to indulge!) In honor of the occasion, we’re sharing Yelp’s Guide to Cincy’s Most Delicious Donuts. We challenge you to try one of everything — it’s the American thing to do. Here’s Cindy from Yelp Cincy:

In honor of National Donut Month we’re sharing our guide to the most mouth watering treats that Cincy has to offer. Whether you like yours glazed, sprinkled, or topped with Fruity Pebbles – our list has something to satisfy every member of the fam!

Holtman’s Donuts

OTR + Loveland + Wiliamsburg + West Chester

If you ask someone for a donut recommendation in Cincinnati, there’s a strong chance that Holtman’s is the name you’ll hear. The history and recipe of these donuts goes back to 1960 and are still made from scratch to this day. Their innovative flavors are what puts them on top, including; maple bacon, Lucky Charms, and the cronut – a delicious mashup of a donut and  croissant. Their fans go nuts for their donuts and we are sure you will too.  {Editor’s note: Check out our review of Holtman’s brand-new West Chester bakery!}

Top This Donut Bar

Norwood + Ft. Thomas, KY

What sets Top This apart from all the other donut locales is that you can create your own flavor! Isn’t that what every kid dreams of? Toppings include (but aren’t limited to): Fruity Pebbles, marshmallows, sprinkles, Oreos, and chocolate chips. The hardest part will be deciding which creation to dream up!

Bonomini Bakery

Northside

This German classic is fourth generation family-owned that sticks to the simple stuff you crave, like generously powdered donuts and succulently stuffed cake donuts. Known for their outrageous “klunker” that can be best described as a fried danish, but in knot form that is dense, super sweet, and offers just the right amount of crunchy goodness. Stop in for free smells, and donuts for days.

Hey donut lovers: Take a journey through Butler County’s Donut Trail this fall!

Silverton Donut Shop

Silverton

This hidden gem is a simple mom and pop shop with no bells and whistles – but don’t be fooled, they know how to do donuts! Silverton’s old-fashioned cake donuts are downright dreamy. A Yelper favorite is the Lemon Honeymoon. Get ready to swoon – it’s a homerun with the soft donut and lemon combo.

Pink in a Blanket Doughnuts

Florence, KY

This Florence spot is a local favorite for a balanced doughnut where the sweetness is not overdone. With unique options and your normal specialty doughnuts, they also serve pigs-in-a-blanket (which you would only expect from the name). When you go, make sure you pick up their signature Fruity Pebble donut.
