Where are we going this weekend? Feb. 20-21

Hello!

I’m just stopping by for a new feature I like to call “Where are we going this weekend?”

If your kids are anything like mine, you’ll probably have to answer this question bright and early Saturday morning. And between cleaning up the mess from Saturday morning pancakes and tackling your mountain of laundry and trying to catch your breath after a busy week — you realize you have no idea.

We’re here to help! Here are 5 things going on this weekend (courtesy of our fabulous online calendar):

1. Snow White and the Dancing Dwarfs

Did you know that Snow White’s Dwarfs are amazing dancers? Come see for yourselves as the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale of Snow White, her evil stepmother, the all-knowing mirror and the handsome (but not-too-brainy) prince, step their way back into your hearts and imagination. This is a world-premiere production you don’t want to miss! Shows this Saturday at 2 and 5 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

2. Fire-n-Food in the Nature PlayScape

Head to the Cincinnati Nature Center’s PlayScape this Saturday for a toasty fire and s’mores provided by CNC, then stick around to explore and play with your family. It’s going to be a gorgeous weekend, so take advantage of it with some fresh air and outdoor time with the fam!

3. Everything Thomas at EnterTRAINment Junction

“Everything Thomas” is an indoor celebration of the world’s most famous tank engine, Thomas, and includes Thomas wooden train layouts, Thomas HO scale electric train display, videos, Thomas & Friends scavenger hunts, crafts, and even a Thomas indoor train ride. (Shameless plug alert: I wrote about EnterTRAINment Junction this week.) This special event ends Feb. 29 — so get your little engines over there while it’s still happening!

4. Hatching Spring Blooms at Krohn

Start your new year with the sparking colors, invigorating smells and chic designs found in the Krohn Conservatory Hatching Spring Blooms floral show. Want to learn more? Check out my blog! This weekend, there’s a kid-friendly “Recycled Egg Crate and K-Cup Seed Starters” craft you won’t want to miss.

5. National Parks Adventure

This film just opened at the Omnimax. And it’s narrated by Robert Redford! National Parks Adventure takes you on the ultimate off-trail adventure into the nation’s awe-inspiring great outdoors and untamed wilderness. You’ll soar over red rock canyons, up craggy mountain peaks and into other-worldly realms found within America’s most legendary outdoor playgrounds. Check the Museum Center’s website for showtimes.
