Mark your calendars for the healthiest event of the year: Healthy Kids Day!
On Saturday, April 27, the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati and Great Parks of Hamilton County, along with sponsors Delta Airlines and Fifth Third Bank, will team up for Healthy Kids Day, which runs from 10 am until 2 pm at Parky’s Farm in Winton Woods Park (10073 Daly Road).
This event has been happening for over 25 years, and serves as a celebration of kids’ health and wellness. Across the country, nearly 1.2 million children and their families are expected to participate in YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day at more than 1,600 locations across the country!
Healthy Kids Day features a wide variety of free activities and family fun, including: the interactive music of Zak Morgan, climbing walls, bounce houses, face painting, a Bengals’ obstacle course, visits and pictures with professional and college mascots, hula hooping, gymnastics, healthy snacks and more!
Studies show that when kids are out of school, they can face hurdles that prevent them from reaching their full potential. They tend to be less physically and academically active – a disparity that is more profound in low-income areas. As a leading nonprofit committed to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Y is addressing critical gaps in kids’ health and education.
Summer is the perfect time to get outdoors and be active with your family – and instill healthy habits in your kids that will stay with them into adulthood! This is made easy and fun through all the outdoor activities at the Great Parks of Hamilton County and summer camps and classes at the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati.
Everyone in the community is invited to join in on the fun at this free, family-friendly event on April 27. Healthy Kids Day happens rain or shine*, and parking and admission to Parky’s Farm are free for this event. *In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved indoors to the nearby Powel Crosley, Jr. YMCA.
