What is Rockwern Academy’s age/grade range?
Our Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC) accepts toddlers (children who are 15 months by September 30 of the entering school year) through pre-K (children must be four years old by September 30 of the entering school year. Our elementary school runs from kindergarten through sixth grade.
What is your enrollment policy? Are there any key dates parents should be aware of?
Students do not have to identify as Jewish to attend our Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC). Application dates are available to view at https://www.rockwernacademy.org/apply. Although the official admissions deadline is February 12, 2021, we do accept students on a rolling basis. Please contact us at any time of the year if you are interested in learning more about Rockwern, and we will let you know if there is availability in your child’s grade level. If there is, we would be happy to walk you through the application process.

Do you offer financial assistance?
Yes! Our goal is to welcome and support a diverse group of students, including those who would not otherwise be able to attend Rockwern. You can apply online for financial assistance on our website.
What are the standard school day hours?
For toddlers through ECEC 3, we offer 3 day and 5 day programs, as well as half day (8:15 AM – 12:15 PM), full day (8:15 AM – 3:15 PM), and complete day (7:00 AM – 6:00 PM (F) 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM) hours.
In K-6, our hours are 8:15 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. After Care is available daily until 6:00 PM Monday – Thursday and until 5:00 PM Friday, for an extra charge. Before Care is available from 7:00 – 8:15 AM at no cost.

Does Rockwern Academy offer before/after school care? Does Rockwern Academy offer afterschool activities?

We offer many afterschool activities in a normal year. Programs include soccer, basketball, volleyball, art, and LEGO robotics.
Does Rockwern Academy offer support for students with special needs?
We have a speech-language pathologist, school psychologist, gifted specialist, school counselor, reading support teacher, math tutor, and ELL support. We get to know our students deeply on a personal level, providing them with the tools they need to succeed in a nurturing, differentiated learning environment.
What specialty classes / extracurricular activities does Rockwern Academy offer (gym, art, language, sports etc.)?
Our art and music curriculum is integrated into all we do at Rockwern! Students perform in musicals and art shows. We have a robust physical education program as well as after school sports such as basketball, soccer, and volleyball. All students learn a second language, Hebrew, beginning in our toddler class.

What extra safety measures is Rockwern Academy taking during the COVID-19 pandemic?
We have rigorous extra safety measures that have paid off, allowing our school to remain open. These include:
- Mandatory face coverings for all staff and students in ECEC 2 and above
- Increased cleaning and disinfection
- Social distancing
- Larger classrooms and smaller class sizes
- Lunch in classrooms
Student/staff learning pods that limit the number of people each person interacts withstaggered pickup and drop off times
