Explore the Great Miami Riverway and enjoy a local experience like no other at Petals & Wicks. In the heart of Downtown Hamilton, Petals & Wicks is the place to “explore a pour” by creating your unique candle. With the holidays just around the corner, make the perfect gift for someone special at Petals & Wicks.
My family arrived at this adorable candle bar on a Saturday afternoon and were warmly greeted by owners, Mike and Sherry Hoskins. No reservations are necessary; just drop by and experience “love at first pour” at this local business. Petals & Wicks offers natural soy wax candles which use pure fragrance oils and cotton paper wicks for a long-lasting, clean-burning true scent candle.
So let’s get started… we began by grabbing a clipboard and smelling over 70 unique fragrances (and now there are amazing holiday scents such as Candy Cane, Peppermint Bark, Cinnamon Spice just to name a few) and wrote down our favorite scents. Then we chose from a variety of containers for our amazing candles. Next, we took a seat at the fragrance bar and chose three of our favorites to blend into our own one-of-a-kind candles.
My scents were coffee, vanilla bean and baked bread. The smell was incredible as I mixed the blend into the soy wax creating my candle. The candles takes 90 minutes to solidify and then are yours to take home. You can wait and enjoy the quaint Hamilton shops and eateries — or pick up your candle when convenient for you. And if you’re pressed for time, Petals & Wicks has many candles to buy in-store or online.
Looking ahead, you’ll want to mark your calendar for the Vintage Christmas Truck Canvas & Candle event on Nov. 27. Begin the evening by pouring a 12oz soy Vintage Truck Candle with a wide variety of holiday fragrances. While your candle solidifies, “Canvas Comes to You” will help you paint a 16×20″ Christmas Truck Canvas with lights. The event is designed for teens and up and is $50/person.
Petals & Wicks also holds private parties for every occasion. They require reservations for groups of 5-25 people. Or plan a Mobile Lab party, and Petals & Wicks comes to your home or business! To make a reservation, simply call the store or email [email protected].
