If you visited the recent Lego displays at Kenwood Mall or if you’ve been lucky enough to visit a LEGOLAND Discovery Center or theme park, you know that adults can have just as much fun as kids as evidenced by the amazing buildings and cities built out of the little plastic bricks.
And it looks like Lego knows this as well, based on their ever expanding Architecture Series and Birds, available online and in select stores.
My husband and his founding partners at Openfield Creative in downtown Cincinnati have raised the bar when it comes to adult Lego fun. After moving into the PNC Tower last year, they realized they needed a table for their new conference room. But instead of buying one, they decided to make one… out of Legos!
They used just over 60,000 bricks and set in to connect them into a 6′ x 12′ table. All 15 employees worked on the brick by brick build-out when they had meetings or conference calls, over the course of 4-5 weeks. They had a base table built by Hayes Shanesy of Brush Factor (http://www.brushmanufactory.com) then layered a sheet of plexiglass over the top.
