All teens experience some amount of anxiety at times. It’s a normal reaction to stress. For some teens however, anxiety can go beyond the typical symptoms to affect friendships, extracurricular activities and even their schoolwork. Research shows that about a quarter of all teens have an anxiety disorder. So what’s a parent to do? It starts with understanding teen anxiety, the hidden signs, symptoms and causes. Join us for the next Ages & Stages parent workshop as Sarah Burk, Director of Education at the Butler County Juvenile Detention Center offers tips on how to spot the signs of teen anxiety and importantly what parents can do to help.
