I have a confession. We are slightly Disney obsessed in our house. It may stem from the fact that I’ve always been a big fan, or maybe we are still floating on the magic carpet after our recent trip to Disney World. No matter the reason, we have Disney soundtracks playing on repeat at home, in the car, while we play, while we eat… you get the picture. So when we had the opportunity to check out the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra’s Disney in Concert: Tale as Old as Time at the Taft Theatre, we were all thrilled!
We each have our favorite Disney movie and they were all represented during the concert. I even caught my husband singing along to Aladdin. If your little ones are still not “Letting Go” or they have begged to see the new Beauty in the Beast (again) in the theatre, then this is a wonderful opportunity to bring the magic to life. You’ll hear favorites from Frozen, The Lion King, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid and more. Cincinnati Pop’s Disney in Concert is magic!
It’s no secret that it can be difficult for young children – or even adults for that matter – to sit through a concert. The Cincinnati Pops has solved this, however, with 4 unbelievably talented and charming singers, the always-impressive musical production of the Orchestra and the visual addition of a large screen, showing clips of the movies throughout the entire performance. They had our attention from the first note and the familiar music was the only buy in we needed for our two very young children. I had high expectations for this concert, given it’s the Cincinnati Pops and Disney working together, and even those high hopes were blown away by the magic of the evening.
Disney in Concert: Tale as Old as Time runs this weekend with Saturday shows at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Children’s tickets are only $15 and all tickets can be purchased on their website here.
