Cincinnati Ghost Tour

I’ll admit it… I believe in ghosts! For over a decade, I have been spending the fall months searching for spirits in my community and beyond. On cool clear nights, I have hunted for ghosts in St. Louis, Savannah, Charleston and now Cincinnati… amazingly, I have captured orbs and apparitions in my photographs. But the purpose of these tours is not to scare, but to enlighten each guest on the history, legends and citizens of their city (especially those not ready to leave this earth).

To get my girlfriends in the Halloween “spirit”, I planned our Moms’ Night Out with the Cincinnati Ghost Tour.

On a beautiful evening in the historic Clifton Gaslight District, we were guided by the amazing storyteller, author and actor, Mr. Roy Heizer. The tour began promptly at 7:30pm in front of the fountain at Clifton and Ludlow Aves. (Be there at 7:15pm or the tour will leave without you!) With his top hat on and lantern in hand, Mr. Heizer lead us back in time with his brilliant and spooky delivery of Cincinnati’s haunted past.

With the charming and beautiful Clifton neighborhood as the setting for his ghostly tales, we were entranced by the fascinating local stories of hauntings, murder and mystery. Did you know the first serial killer in Cincinnati was a woman? Come tour and hear for yourself the many frightening stories of Cincinnati’s dark past.

But, it’s not all serious. Mr. Heizer shares ghost jokes and keeps the tour light… I guarantee no nightmares! Also, Mr. Heizer will be interviewed by WVXU 91.7 on October 29th! Tune in to this exciting broadcast to hear all about his newest book…Cincinnati Cemeteries – Hauntings and Other Legends.

Our entire group loved the tour! And we promised to return each year to learn about more ghostly tales and findings. Unfortunately, I did not discover any orbs in my pictures, but I will not give up the ghost hunt in Cincinnati.

For your next adult night out, schedule a Cincinnati Ghost Tour. Tours are available throughout the year; and I recommend this ghost tour for ages 10 and over if planning a family night. Tickets are $15/each and may be purchased online. There is convenient FREE parking available near the fountain; and the tour is approximately 90 minutes. Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather (rain or shine).

And, don’t forget your camera! You never know when you’ll catch a glimpse of a ghost!
