Local chocolatier Sherri Prentiss of Velveteen Chocolate has launched a series of chocolate classes and demonstrations aimed at local food and chocolate enthusiasts. You won’t want to miss this month’s chocolate-making class for kids at Findlay Kitchen!
Cocoa Kids: Truffle-Making with Children happens Saturday, April 29th from 1:30-3:15 p.m. at Findlay Kitchen (1719 Elm St., Cincinnati 45202). During this class, kids will work, roll and decorate with chocolate to make their very own chocolate truffles! Taste-testing is encouraged; there will also be drinking chocolate to sample during the class. Cocoa Kids is designed for kids 4 and up and is $30/student.
Prentiss trained to be a chocolatier in France, and she recently traveled to Costa Rica to work on cacao farms and meet the farmers. She frequently imparts stories about her chocolate travels and shares knowledge about sustainable practices in the chocolate industry that will help class participants make informed consumer choices.
