Bluegrass for Babies Fundraising Concert at Sawyer Point September 19

The annual Bluegrass for Babies concert presented by the Healthy Roots Foundation is returning to Sawyer Point on September 19! The family-friendly bluegrass concert will run from 3-9pm with plenty of activities for everyone.

This year’s concert features performances from returning local favorites, Hickory Robot at 3pm and Comet Bluegrass All-Stars at 7pm. Children’s performer Jennifer Ellis will take to the stage at 4:15 with a special performance for kids. This year’s headliner, Pennsylvania band Cabinet, will perform at 5pm. Cabinet was recently named one of the “Top 10 Country Artists You Need to Know in 2015” by Rolling Stone. Food will be available from Green BEAN Delivery, Eli’s BBQ, Mazunte, and Dewey’s Pizza, and there will be local craft beer from Mt. Carmel Brewery and MadTree.

Bluegrass for Babies is an official Giving Hope fundraising event for Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Since the first concert in 2009, the event has raised nearly $130,000 to support innovative children’s health research and educational programs.

This year the money is going to help fund an innovative new study by the Center for Prevention of Preterm Birth about the impact of environmental exposures on pregnancy outcomes.

Tickets for the Bluegrass for Babies benefit concert are $15 for adults in advance and $20 day of, with children under 12 admitted for free. Group tickets, new this year, are $12. Presale period ends Friday, September 18, 2015.  Tickets can be purchased at www.bluegrassforbabies.com.
