Beat Cabin Fever this Winter with Great Parks

If you’re like me, the cold temperatures of the past week have been a shock! But just because the really warm weather may be behind us, that doesn’t give us an excuse to stay inside until spring.

As our past dog trainer once said, “There’s not bad weather, just dog owners that aren’t dressed for it.” I think about this statement a lot over the winter and it helps motivate me to walk my dog daily, year round. And the trainer is right — once I invested in the right coat, hat and gloves, I was fine once I got past the initial shock of walking out the door.

But when it comes to a winter exercise program, I struggle. But seeing this article gives me new hope, and reminds me that there are still events happening around town and people that are out and about. So check it out and make a goal to try one of these activities. Who knows — you may find a new hobby, create a healthy habit or find that you’re more fit or in better health come spring. So get out in the great outdoors; your mind, body and spirit will thank you!
