Summer is here, and Cincinnati parents from the West Side to the East Side are in search of the perfect place for their toddlin’ tots to burn off roughly 5 months of pent-up, winter energy. Search no more – we have compiled the perfect list of pee-wee playgrounds!
Here are 5 toddler-friendly playgrounds in Cincinnati:
1. Pogo Play (pictured)
Perfect for rainy days, or if you’re looking for an “un-playground” afternoon. Pogo Play has everything from sports courts, legos, a “build your own playground” room with moveable mats to climb on, inflatable bounce houses, and last but not least, a whole room devoted entirely to exercising little brains as well as little bodies.
2. Â Hamilton County Parks “Wet Parks”
Summers in Cincinnati can come with blazing sun and smothering humidity. Dust off that beach bag, pack a lunch and some sunscreen and head to one of the Hamilton County Parks “Wet Parks.” Wet Parks can be found at Woodland Mound (pictured), Winton Woods and Miami Whitewater Park. Admission is $3.50 per child, or $24 for a season pass.
3. Julifs Park
Julifs park in Anderson Township has a large play area, biking/walking trails and sports fields. What caught our eye about Julifs Park was how low their play equipment was to the ground. Plenty of ramps to get up to the slides rather than stairs or climbing walls – perfect for wee-walkers.
4. CVG Airport Viewing Area
Though the actual play area is small, there are big things to see (and watch) at the CVG Airport Viewing Area! A perfect place for little boys and girls who like to watch planes pass by above.
5. Veterans Park (Green Township)
Veterans Park in Green Township is perfect for little ones who need to run, and run, and RUN! Sports fields and lots of grassy areas are a perfect place to stretch little legs, and the park itself has plenty of places to swing, climb or stop for a lunch break.

About Emily:
Emily grew up just north of Cincinnati in Hamilton, OH and now lives in Western Hills with her husband Jim, their son James and their lunatic yellow lab, Rosey. Emily graduated from Xavier University (Go Muskies!), and is now a stay at home mom after working in marketing and promotions for local radio and TV stations.
Emily spends most of her free time visiting the manatees (James’ favorite) at the Cincinnati Zoo, shopping at local antique shops, or singing Beatles songs with James who typically just stares at her like she’s crazy. Emily hopes one day he’ll join in but for now she enjoys his giggles. She also enjoys photography and has quickly turned into a Pure Barre addict while trying to melt away the daily milkshakes she consumed while pregnant. So far it’s going well, but Skyline frequently gets in the way.
Emily loves to write and is looking forward to connecting with other Moms in Cincinnati while writing for Cincinnati Parent.
