5 Things You Have to do this Weekend in Cincinnati

This weekend features lots of fun activities — but there’s a catch. Some of these events, like Books By the Banks, happen just once a year. Others, like Alice in Wonderland, happen only a handful of times. And a few, like the Mermaids, are just about to end. In other words, all of this weekend’s best events are limited-time only. So what are you waiting for?

Here are 5 things you have to do this weekend in Cincinnati:

Books By The Banks

Saturday, Oct. 15 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Duke Energy Convention Center
Think of your elementary book fair — on steroids! The Duke Energy Convention Center becomes a book lover’s paradise during this one-day event, featuring story times, kids’ activities, author meet-and-greets, and of course, tons of books for sale! Don’t miss this free, one-day, event!

Fall Back In Time

Tues.-Sun. through Oct. 23 at Krohn Conservatory
It’s the penultimate weekend for this fall show, which is a breath of fresh fall air amid the season’s busyness. You’ll definitely want to take the kids this Saturday for A Very Green Halloween: from 1-3, kids can trick-or-treat at the Conservatory! Read all about this fall show here.

Mermaids

Through Oct. 16 at Newport Aquarium
Mermaids in Cincinnati? Yes — but only until Sunday! Your whole family will be enchanted at this magical exhibit, which features Mermaid Meet and Greets for your little mermaid lovers.

Alice in Wonderland

Shows on Oct. 15-16 and Oct. 21-23 at the Taft Theatre
We are so excited for The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati’s 2016-17 season, which kicks off with everyone’s topsy turvy tale, Alice in Wonderland! Don’t be late — this show is only happening for two weekends.

Fabulous Fall Funday

Sunday, Oct. 16 at Taft Museum of Art
It’s the second-to-last Funday of the year, and you won’t want to miss it! From 1-4, make an autumn decoration to take home, meet some live “spooky” animals from Great Parks of Hamilton County, become an art detective at the Art Cart — and, at 2 p.m., enjoy a performance of Madcap’s Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Madcap Puppets. Totally free, totally fun.
