5 Things to do in Cincy this Weekend

After a cooler-than-usual 4th of July, summer is back with a vengeance this week! With temps well into the ’90s, no one wants to be outside (unless, of course, it’s at a splash park). So, we’ve hand-picked three indoor activities, one nighttime event and one weekend-long festival for those brave enough to venture outside. Without further ado, here are 5 things to do in Cincy this weekend:

Oakley After Hours
Friday, July 8, 6-8 p.m. at Blue Manatee Children’s Bookstore
This popular summer event in Oakley is made kid friendly c/o Blue Manatee. Not only will the store be open from special hours (6-8 p.m.), there will also be a special story time at 7! See you at the LePage Stage! Our tip? Head to Aglamesis beforehand for a sweet treat.

St. Thomas More Julyfest
Fri., July 8 – Sun., July 10 at St. Thomas More Church
If you’re craving a classic summer festival experience, in all its funnel-cake-and-raffles glory, look no further. The St. Thomas More Julyfest (#thefestawakens) is one of the area’s best, complete with lots of live music, raffles ($10K grand prize, anyone?) and of course, all.the.rides.

Da Vinci – The Genius
Daily through Sept. 25 at the Museum Center
On hot summer days, we flock to the Museum Center. It’s cool, educational, and most importantly, fun! And, this Da Vinci exhibit is a summer must for all Cincy families!

Christmas in July
Daily through July 31 at EnterTRAINment Junction
It’s the most wonderful time… of the summer! That’s right: it’s Christmas in July at EnterTRAINment Junction! All month long, get in the Christmas spirit at EnteTRAINment Junction, where the mood is merry, displays are festive and Santa is vacationing! (Check back next week for a full feature on this kid approved event.)

Honeybees in the Summer Breeze
Daily through Aug. 21 at Krohn Conservatory
It’s no secret we adore Krohn Conservatory — and we’re all abuzz about this new show! We’ll have all the details on the site tomorrow — but, until then, we’ve got two words for you: bee dance. (Check our Instagram for more!)

So, stay cool this weekend at these totally fun events. And just remember: come January when it’s all ice, snow and freezing temps, you’ll be wishing for the hot, sticky Cincy summer weather!
