The Dinosaur Diary of Dr. T-Rex

Friday, Jan. 20 from 7:30-10 p.m. at Fitton Center for the Arts
The prehistoric world comes to life as students learn language arts and science through a thrilling show as they watch, hear, and touch realistic one-of-a-kind puppets and museum quality fossils. This interactive show motivates children to discover the amazing world of dinosaurs through the essential skills of writing and reading. Tickets are $13 for adult non-members and $11 adult members — and up to 4 free tickets to children under 16 are available with each adult ticket purchased.

The Little Mermaid

Jan. 17-29 at the Aronoff Center
Little mermaid Ariel longs to be part of fascinating world on dry land. Joining her are Sebastian, Ariel’s crabby sidekick; Ursula, evil sea witch; Triton, King of the Sea and handsome, human Prince Eric. This musical is sure to have your family singing in their seats!

The Music Man

Jan. 19-22 at The Carnegie
Seventy-six trombones will be marching into The Carnegie for its annual, family-friendly January production. See Professor Harold Hill take on the stubborn citizens of River City, Iowa while unexpectedly falling in love with the town’s buttoned-up librarian, Marian Paroo. With plenty of Americana and rousing up-tempo tunes, it’ll be the like the fourth of July in the middle of January.

“Jumping Over the Moon – A Puppet Musical” by the Madcap Puppets

Sat., Jan. 21 at the Clifton Cultural Arts Center
The creepy party guests (the audience) have already arrived when two vaudeville actors, Sigmund and Alex, enter a mysterious old house to perform at a birthday party. They’re astonished to discover the party is for a baby monster! Thinking fast on their feet, they entertain with twists on traditional rhymes fit for a monster party. The audience helps Sigmund and Alex with their hilarious musical numbers to appease the mischievous child in all of us. Tickets are $8 each and can be purchased from the CCAC Box Office 1 hour prior to each showtime. Shows at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Henry VI: The Wars of the Roses, Pt. 2

Jan. 20-Feb. 11 at the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company
The History Cycle spirals towards its inevitable end in the penultimate chapter of Shakespeare’s greatest saga. Sides have been chosen and loyalties tested as the Wars of the Roses rage on. The houses of York and Lancaster contend for control of the kingdom, and in the midst of the chaos a certain hunch-backed hellion begins his infamous maneuverings to win the crown. Paired with the upcoming production of Richard III, this theatrical event is not to be missed!
