Story Time at the Betts: Little Women

Sat., April 29 from 1-4 p.m. at The Betts House
Written in 1869, Little Women by Louisa May Alcott was a popular book during the mid to late 19th century. It describes the lives of the March girls (Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy) during the time of the Civil War. Join us for a reading from an excerpt of the Great Illustrated Classics edition of Little Women with a short discussion afterward. Participants will also be encouraged to create their own thaumatrope, a popular toy from the 19th century! Tickets are $5 per adult and $2 per child and will be available for purchase online or at the door. While you’re there, be sure to explore the kid-friendly Betts House exhibit: A Day in the Life!

Birds, Blooms & Painted Pots Day
Sat., April 29 from 12-3 p.m. at Farbach-Werner Nature Preserve
Celebrate the arrival of migratory birds and spring wildflowers! Your family can pick a painted pot from our trees and plant a flower in it, go on a bird or wildflower hike, play games and more. Healthy Kids Day
Sat., April 29 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Winton Woods/Parky’s Farm
Get moving at Healthy Kids Day with fitness class demos, scavenger hunts, an inflatable bounce house, wagon rides and more. We will be joined by the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati. Read more about this fun festival here!

Disney in Concert
April 28-30 at The Taft
Disney in Concert: Tale as Old as Time is a musical celebration exploring the magical moments and feats of heroics from Frozen, The Little Mermaid, Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and more.

Zoo Blooms

Don’t miss the final weekend of Zoo Blooms! Every April, the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden becomes the Cincinnati Botanical Garden & Zoo when it transforms into a magnificent explosion of color! As one of only two accredited botanical gardens in Ohio, the Cincinnati Zoo offers one of the largest tulip displays in the Midwest. Dubbed “Tulip Mania,” Zoo Blooms also features more than one million daffodils, hyacinths, flowering trees, shrubs and other spring bulbs exploding with color.
