It’s going to be a blah weekend here in the Queen City. The snow has melted and the rain has come — and it’s going to be a wet, yucky weekend. Our solution? A myriad of cheerful, indoor options! From arts to crafts to books to puppets, there are lots of fun activities happening this weekend that will keep your kids happy, busy and dry.

Refresh your home library at the Friends Winter Warehouse Sale! Books, CDs, DVDs, videos, books-on-CD and record albums will be sold at bargain prices.
Story Time: The Dot
Jan. 13 from 1:30-2:15 at Brazee Street Studios
Glass work for preschoolers? You bet! Bring your 3-6 year old to Brazee’s weekly Story Time to hear a great story and make an original piece of glass art! After reading The Dot, by Peter H. Reynolds, students will create their own dot sun catchers using safe and colorful fused glass components. No experience necessary. All glass materials are pre-fired and age appropriate.
Superhero Drawing Workshop
Jan. 14, 2-3 p.m. at the North Central Branch Library
Batman, Superman or Wonder Woman? Your kids will learn how to draw your own superhero with award-winning children’s book illustrator Tara Calahan King during this free class.
Madcap Puppets: Jumping over the Moon – A Puppet Musical
Jan. 14 and 15 at the Cincinnati Art Museum
The creepy party guests (the audience) have already arrived when two vaudeville actors, Sigmund and Alex, enter a mysterious old house to perform at a birthday party. They’re astonished to discover the party is for a baby monster! Thinking fast on their feet, they entertain with twists on traditional rhymes fit for a monster party. The audience helps Sigmund and Alex with their hilarious musical numbers to appease the mischievous child in all of us. $8/non members and free for kids under 1.
Tall Tales
Jan. 15, 1-4 p.m. at the Taft Museum
Legends of the West abound at this Funday. Visit Picturing the West on its last day at the Taft to see this fantastic frontier as it was when America’s folk tales about the West were first told. Learn about the power of photography at the Art Cart, practice your own photographic skills, and make a craft to take home. At 2 p.m., you’ll hear folk tales and songs from Russ and Barb Childers. Oh, and it’s FREE. Sunday funday, indeed!
