5 Can’t-Miss Summer Events this Weekend in Cincinnati

We’re in the thick of those ‘dog days’ of summer – and despite the heat, there’s nothing better than getting out and celebrating! This weekend features some of the finest summer fests and events of the season — so grab your hats and sunscreen and embrace every second!

Here are 5 Can’t-Miss Summer Events this Weekend in Cincinnati:

Butterfly Fest at Blooms and Berries(pictured)
July 7-15
Featuring face painters, live music, food trucks and farmyard fun, Butterfly Fest offers everything you love about Blooms & Berries’s fall festival — and more! Each weekend day, over 1,000 butterflies will be released to pollinate our local plants.

Bastille Day
July 14 from 11 am – 10 pm in Downtown Montgomery
Montgomery celebrates our sister city, Neiully-Plaisance, France with this annual fundraising street festival that helps to fund the many activities we do as a sister city. Bastille Day has a kid’s area with games and pony rides, two stages of live entertainment, 15+ food vendors, domestic and craft brews, wines and more in a festive setting. The City closes down Montgomery Road at Cooper to Remington on a Saturday mid-July and runs a fun-packed day from noon to 11 pm.

Butterfly Sundae
July 15 from 1-4 pm at Farbach-Werner Nature Preserve/Ellenwood Nature Barn
It’s a midsummer celebration of butterflies! Children can complete a take-home butterfly craft and a scavenger hunt. To top it off, taste a teeny tiny old-fashioned ice cream sundae, lemonade, iced tea and grilled corn at this outdoor summer festival. Nature’s Niche gift shop will also feature 10% off all butterfly merchandise today. (Free, some crafts will require a small fee)

Crazy Cardboard Boat Regatta
Julu 14 from 11 am – 3 pm at VOA Park
BOATS! BOATS! BOATS! Cardboard boats, that is. The MetroParks of Butler County presents the 8th Annual Crazy Cardboard Regatta on Saturday, July 14th. Do you think you’ve got what it takes? Then sign your team up to build your own cardboard boat and join the amazing race around the lake! Sea legs aren’t quite ready; you say? No problem! Vendors, entertainment, activities, and more await you upon shore. So, come on out for some summer family fun, and don’t forget to keep calm and boat on! FREE for spectators.

St. Thomas More JulyFest
July 13-15
St. Thomas More’s annual festival was voted “Best of the East” by Cincy Magazine in 2018, and for good reason. This isn’t your average church festival; JulyFest boasts a rockin’ musical lineup, massive kids’ area, huge casino and the now-infamous “Helicopter Golf Ball Drop” which is exactly what it sounds like, and something you need to see in person!
