So, the mild weather’s been great and all, but we want winter back. The warm mittens and hats, cold air — and maybe some snow? We are doing all sorts of snow dances right now, as this looks to be a pretty fantastic winter weekend in Cincinnati!

Penguin Days at the Cincinnati Zoo

Daily through March 10, with penguin parades happening all weekend long!

Don’t miss this story time classic! After reading “Winter is for Snow” by Robert Neubecker, your 3-6 year old will design and create their own fused glass wintery scene!

Green Eggs and Ham

If there’s one thing we know, it’s that Dr. Seuss would have absolutely loved Lollipops concerts. Because these family oriented Cincinnati Pops concerts are fun – and fun is good! So combine the whimsical, upbeat Lollipops with the whimsical, upbeat Dr. Seuss? Magic. This month’s Lollipops show, Green Eggs and Ham, promises to be a delightful morning filled with lively music, interactive, kid friendly activities and the skilled conducting of Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra newcomer Keitaro Harada.

Winter Hat Walk at Winton Woods

Saturday, January 29 at 10 a.m.
Calling on hats of all kinds! We want color, flash, variety and the most remarkable! We suggest warming up at one of these Yelp-approved brunch spots afterwards.

Maple Syrup Making at the Cincinnati Nature Center

Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 28 and 29
Experience the whole process of producing liquid gold from maple sap. Bask in the warmth of the evaporator and its maple-scented steam. Drop by the sugar house near Krippendorf Lodge and join in an interactive sap collecting maple hike. Hikes start at the sugar house. Free; nonmembers pay daily admission.
