Now that school is back in session for many, it’s time to get the household organized! There are no doubt many apps and websites that can help in this digitally-driven era, but I’m going to go old fashioned on this and put my vote in for the good ‘ole chalkboard. Here’s why:
- After poking at screens all day, it feels good to pick up a piece of chalk and write something.
- People can’t resist a blank canvas. As the days go by, notice the drawings and scribbles that mysteriously appear, often times inspired by special events or holidays. We may not have mints on the pillows for out-of-town guests, but they can always count on a personalized welcome sign. And there’s always a theme-appropriate design for each holiday.
- You also get to see what the kids are learning at school, whether it’s the water cycle or math.
- But the best surprises, without a doubt, are the random love notes.
No place for an easel? Imagine covering an entire wall with chalkboard paint or whiteboard paint!
