Mark your calendars for the healthiest event of the year: Healthy Kids Day!
On Saturday, April 28th, the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati and Great Parks of Hamilton County, along with sponsor Delta Airlines, will team up for another Healthy Kids Day, which runs from 10 am until 2 pm at Parky’s Farm in Winton Woods Park (10073 Daly Road).
This event has been happening for over 25 years, and serves as a celebration of kids’ health and wellness. Across the country, nearly 1.2 million children and their families are expected to participate in YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day at more than 1,600 locations across the country! As in years past, Healthy Kids Day features a wide variety of free activities, including a climbing wall, bounce houses, relay and obstacle courses, fitness classes (including soccer lessons from FC Cincinnati!), face painting, visits with farm animals, tractor rides and much more.
Studies show that when kids are out of school, they can face hurdles that prevent them from reaching their full potential. They tend to be less physically and academically active – a disparity that is more profound in low-income areas. As a leading nonprofit committed to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Y is addressing critical gaps in kids’ health and education.
Summer is the perfect time to get outdoors and be active with your family – and instill healthy habits in your kids that will stay with them into adulthood! This is made easy and fun through all the outdoor activities at the Great Parks of Hamilton County and summer camps and classes at the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati.
Everyone in the community is invited to join in on the fun at this totally free, family friendly event on April 28th. Healthy Kids Day happens rain or shine*, and parking and admission to Parky’s Farm are absolutely free! *In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved indoors to the nearby Powel Crosley, Jr. YMCA.
