The Scoop on Main Event Entertainment

Can you believe it’s already August?!?! I know my child is getting restless, and is in need of some new entertainment before the school year begins. Just our luck that a new indoor sports/activity center just opened this summer in West Chester: Main Event Entertainment. This unique attraction is for children and adults and guarantees hours of fun and excitement. If you’re curious, here’s the scoop on Main Event Entertainment:

Located off of I-75 and Union Centre Blvd., Main Event is known for its bowling facility which includes state-of-the-art lanes and lounge areas to play, relax and eat. Other activities include billiards, multi-level laser tag, an arcade and (our personal favorite) gravity ropes.

My daughter and her friends met on a weekday morning to begin their adventures at Main Event. Before 11 a.m., the special is $9.95/person for all non-game activities including ropes course, laser tag, bowling, billiards and more (bowling shoes an extra $2.95/person).

First stop, the arcade area which hosts more than 100 interactive and virtual video games. We purchased a FUNcard with a set cash amount in order to play each game. She inserted the FUNcard into each game to play and conquer. However, when the funds ran out, it was time to find a new diversion.

After a quick safety lesson and placed into safety gear (helmets and harnesses), the kids were ready for gravity ropes. This attraction requires that you be at least 48” inches tall — and have lots of courage! While being suspended above the video game area, the kids enjoyed walking across swaying bridges, narrow planks and tight ropes. They worked as a team and encouraged one another to complete each course.

Next, it was time for a little competition with laser tag (kids must be at least 48” inches to play). The kids separated into teams to compete in this multi-level, glow-in-the-dark game. They were strategic and played round after round laser tag. And they seemed to be slowing down, until I mentioned it was time for bowling!

A piece of advice: bowling is the most popular attraction. If you plan to play any time after Noon, reserve your lane online ahead of time. Bowling at Main Event is an experience with black lights, lasers, music and more. The kids loved that they could create their own virtual scorecard with their faces on animated figures. (You definitely do not have to be a professional to play!) There were lots of bumper balls and a few spares, but after a few sets, the strikes came with loads of laughter and fun.

After a few more bowling sets and another adventure with the gravity ropes, it was time for lunch. These kiddos worked up an appetite and enjoyed chicken fingers, pizza and more in the dining area. Then when the food was gone, it was time for one last game of laser tag.

Main Event Entertainment guarantees an amazing time for both kids and adults while being active and social. Plus, it’s a great place to get out of the house on rainy or hot days!
