Summer Day Camps

Even though we’re still using the furnace during these chilly April nights, soon enough the kids will be out of school and then what? There are SO many great day camp options out there but if you haven’t already done so, you’ve got to sign up now before they fill up!

Great Parks of Hamilton County

We’ll start with the plethora of camps offered by the Great Parks of Hamilton County. My daughter has been going to a couple of their camps each summer. If you have an active kid who loves nature, these camps are great options. There are nature camps, adventure camps, farm camps, horses, fishing, etc. for all ages. My daughter, Livi, first started years ago with half day nature crafts, creeking and fishing at Parky’s Farm; now she does full day adventure camps where she does kayaking, rock climbing, archery, canoeing and golfing.

Cincinnati Zoo

We’ve also been going to a zoo camp for the past few years; they too have a variety of camps based on age. Livi’s especially excited for this year because she moves into a new age bracket which includes a camp that focuses on zoo careers.

Laffalot Summer Camp

This has been one of Livi’s favorites for the past couple of years, which focuses on nothing more than super fun and creative games including pillo pollo, flag tag, kickball, floor hockey and scavenger hunts and more. It’s also been voted best fun and games camp by Cincinnati Magazine.

Challenger British Soccer Camp

Got a soccer player in the family? Then this is the camp for you. Livi did this for a couple years and in addition to improving her soccer skills she also enjoyed games and a World Cup competition. You can even host a British soccer player in your home for the week!
