Know what dad REALLY wants on Father’s Day…Bacon!
So, it’s Coney Island to the rescue…the 2nd annual Bacon Fest at Coney, brought to you by Yuengling, is Father’s Day, Sunday, June 21, a sizzling family event celebrating the wonders of bacon and all of its incredible incarnations.
Some 15 area food outlets will be preparing a vast array of bacon creations, cooking up “Hog Heaven” treats such as Bacon Funnel Cakes, bacon cheesecake, bacon-wrapped Chicken drumsticks with BBQ sauce, bacon caramel corn, chocolate covered bacon…and much more. The event runs 1 p.m.- 8 p.m. in Coney’s Parker’s Grove area. The event has no admission fee and all the Dads will get the Gift of FREE PARKING!
In addition to the tasty bacon goodies, visitors can enjoy live music on the Lipton Tea stage featuring the Naked Karate Girls playing at 4:30.
Of course, Coney’s iconic Sunlite Pool will be open as well as the park’s incredible collection of classic rides – including this season’s two new rides TopSpin, a fun swinging-pendulum family thrill ride, and Fender Benders, a kiddie bumper car ride that puts little ones in the driver’s seat.
Sunlite Pool is open daily 10 a.m.-8 p.m; classic rides are open 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Mon.-Thurs., 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Fri.-Sun.
Rides tickets and Sunlite Pool admission are $14.50 each, with discount pricing offered after 4 p.m. Reduced pricing for kids’ age 2-4 and discounted pool-rides combo tickets are offered. In addition, Coney offers an on-line ticket discount program (see website for more information.)
