Lebanon Mason Monroe Railroad to Operate The Blue Ash Flyer

Attention: families with train-obsessed kids!

For the first time in nearly 20 years a public passenger train will return to Blue Ash, OH. On September 2, 2017, the Lebanon Mason Monroe Railroad will operate The Blue Ash Flyer, a roundtrip excursion train between Cincinnati’s Bond Hill neighborhood and downtown Blue Ash.

The all-day excursion will take place on a stretch of historic track once owned by the Cincinnati, Lebanon, and Northern Railway. Seating will be available in either vintage open widow coaches or a first-class air-conditioned coach. Along the way, passengers will see the Indiana and Ohio Railway’s McCullough Yard and travel past a replica station in Silverton, OH.

“We are excited to offer this unique excursion in the Cincinnati area. It should be a fun experience for history buffs to bring a train full of people into a community long removed from passenger rail,” said Will Gawin, LM&M Railroad General Manager.

Railroad officials see this as a onetime opportunity to ride a train to Blue Ash.

“Track access for an irregular excursion train is extremely hard to come by and we thank our freight railroad partner for this opportunity. We cannot guarantee that this excursion will be possible in the future. If you have an interest in riding this portion of railroad, now is the time,” said Ray Kammer, Cincinnati Railway President of Operations.

The train will stop in downtown Blue Ash for lunch. During the layover, the railroad will operate a short roundtrip departing Blue Ash to allow local residents a chance to ride a train departing from their community.

Tickets can be purchased on the LM&M Railroad’s website, www.lebanonrr.com/offline, or by calling their Lebanon ticket office at (513) 933-8022.
