ArtWorks has a new way for heroes everywhere to help save the day! The Cincinnati Super Squad Thrill-a-Minute Book-of-Fun is a unique activity book that follows a group of young superheroes as they protect Cincinnati and promote the power of positivity. Children of all ages can enjoy this activity book and vicariously conquer Cincinnati while enjoying games and puzzles and learning about Cincinnati’s rich history.
Activity books are currently for sale for $8.99 and feature word searches, puzzles, games and other activities highlighting locations in and around Cincinnati. For every book sold, one book is given to a child at the Ronald McDonald House.
Created by Local Teens to Help Kids Everywhere
With the help of professional artists, the book’s narrative and imagery were created by five ArtWorks youth Apprentices during the summer of 2014. Not only is the book designed to be supportive and empowering to all children, but the process of researching, writing and illustrating the book was empowering for the Creative Enterprise youth Apprentices who were responsible for this project.
In crafting The Cincinnati Super Squad Thrill-a-Minute Book-of-Fun, youth Apprentices sought to celebrate the City of Cincinnati, the amazing children who call Cincinnati home and give their artistic talent an entrepreneurial focus.
“The experience of working with other creative youth on a real world, tangible project is an unparalleled rewarding feeling. Knowing what we were doing would end up as a highly polished finished project was just a blast,” says Payne Vanderwoude , one of the Youth Apprentices who worked on the project.
