Carol Ann Carousel’s Nostalgia Weekend

It’s no secret we love Carol Ann Carousel. It’s fun, it’s romantic, it’s one-of-a-kind — just like Cincinnati! So we got very excited when we heard about Carol Ann Carousel’s Nostalgia Weekend.

This Saturday and Sunday (July 16 and 17), head to Smale Riverfront Park for this family friendly festival! Nostalgia Weekend is a celebration of the past, a throwback to the good old days when Carousels were the favorite past time.

Family activities are also going retro for the weekend, and will include board games, crafts and music. Festival hours are 12-4 p.m. each day.

A little about Carol Ann’s Carousel:

Carol Ann’s Carousel is a gift from the Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile Foundation/US Bank and was built by Carousel Works in Mansfield, Ohio, the world’s largest manufacturer of hand-carved wooden carousels. It features 44 whimsical Cincinnati-centric characters, including a Flying Pig, Bengal Tiger and Derby Horse.

The carousel is an amazing work of art featuring original artwork by Jonathan Queen with panels depicting animal characters playing in one of the numerous Cincinnati parks. Additional panels celebrate the many historic landmarks of Cincinnati. The carousel is housed inside a glass building so it can operate year-round.
