Ault Park Playground

Cincinnati locals certainly know their parks, and if you were to ask anyone East of 1-75 what their favorite park is – you would hear Ault Park. It’s no wonder why – nestled in the hills of Hyde Park, this 224-acre oasis is a sight to behold. It’s Pavilion is a popular venue for weddings, the breathtaking views of the Little Miami make it a perfect picnic or date night spot, and the lush greenspace is perfect for anything and everything.

Ault Park play area for younger children

While older kids can enjoy playing soccer or frisbee on the greenspace, hiking along the numerous trails, or running up and down the Pavilion steps Rocky-style, those activities aren’t always little-kid friendly.

However, what many people don’t realize is that Ault Park has a hidden gem – the Playground! Located up and around the hill near Principio Avenue, there are two massive play structures – one geared towards ages 2-5 and the other for 5-12. Two swing sets with loads of swings for babies, toddlers, and big kids can also be found. There’s plenty of space for picnics, games, and greenery, and the bathrooms are actually well-maintained.

The little kids’ playground is built atop a super-safe squishy ground while the older kids’ area has mulch and wood chips. As a mature and established park, Ault Park hosts big, beautiful trees throughout, providing lots of shade.

After the kiddos get tired at the playground, explore the trails and greenspaces surrounding the area.

For those planning a hike in the area, we recommend bringing bug spray and being wary of poison ivy. It’s nature, after all!

Experience Ault Park for yourself! Pack a picnic, bring a frisbee, and take your kids for a day of outdoor fun and exploration in this beautiful Cincinnati Park. You can find Ault Park at 3600 Observatory Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45208.
