A Destination Library

If you are looking for a cool place to take your kids in Indianapolis, then head to the Indianapolis Public Library downtown.

Here’s a list of ten great things to do at the library downtown.

1. Green screen room. Kids watch themselves on TV as they act out scenes on stage in front of a green screen.

2. Kid computers. There are computers with large keyboards and educational games for toddlers and preschoolers.

3. Magnet wall. The wall allows kids to spell and count using magnetic numbers and letters.

4. Story Time. Certain mornings each week, the library offers story time. Each story time is led by a librarian and has its own theme and additional activities.

5. Summer reading program. Kids keep track of books they read (or have read to them). Prizes earned for books read.

6. Summer movies. Go see a FREE kids movie in the library’s auditorium.

7. Capsule chairs. Sit in a capsule chair, and have a book read to you as you watch the story on the attached TV.

8. Laptop checkout. Weekdays until 4:30, kids can check out and use laptops free of charge.

9. Books. They even have books you can check out and take home!

10. The View. Take a break from learning and head to the top floor of the library for an incredible view of the city.

Next time you are looking for something to do in Indy, take them to library for a fun, free adventure!
