5 Winter Activities to do this Weekend in Cincinnati

Happy New Year, Cincinnati Parents! It’s the very first weekend of 2017, so we wanted to make it a good one. Though the holidays may be over, there’s still lots of fun to be had this winter in Cincinnati. We perused our Online Calendar in search of our favorite family friendly activities this weekend, and were pleased to find lots of festive, winter-y things to do!

Here are 5 winter activities to do this weekend in Cincinnati:

Penguin Days at the Cincinnati Zoo

Daily through March 10 with Penguin Parades every Saturday and Sunday!
Winter is the perfect time to visit the Cincinnati Zoo! Don’t believe us? Every weekend through March 10, the penguins will march in the coolest (and cutest!) parade in town. Plus: Zoo admission is half off every day through March 10. March on over to your Cincinnati Zoo!

The Beach Mountain

Daily through March 5
We haven’t had a sled-dable snow just yet, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take the kids snow tubing! The Beach Mountain is guaranteed fun for the family, featuring real snow on an impressive 400-foot hill.

Raybot Story Time with Adam F. Watkins

Sat., Jan. 7 from 10-11 a.m. at Blue Manatee
Warm up in the coziest bookstore in town this Saturday with a special story time with Raybot author Adam F. Watkins. Raybot is a lonely robot searching for that one animal that says, “woof”… and he soon learns that there are many wonderful (and different!) animals on Earth! This is a sweet tale that will warm everyone’s hearts, no matter how old! This is a free, all-ages, family-friendly event!

Braham’s Fest: Symphony No. 4

Sat., Jan. 7 at the Taft Theatre
Is there anything better than bundling up and enjoying a winter show at the Taft Theatre? We think not. And this CSO show would make a fantastic date night: this edition of the CSO’s Brahms Fest features a program of works that are beautifully interconnected. For Webern’s Passacaglia, a set of 23 exquisite and increasingly complex variations on an eight-note theme, the theme and variations in the finale of Brahms’ Symphony No. 4 were a significant influence.

Holiday Toy Trains at Behringer-Crawford Museum

Daily though Jan. 15
This holiday trains display returns to its station Jan. 15 — and this hidden gem is a must for the family! If your kids are sad Christmas is over, this interactive holiday display is sure to put a smile on their faces.
