Over the past few years, Fall on the Farm at Blooms & Berries has become my family’s most favorite fall tradition. The picturesque pumpkins, friendly farm animals, family-friendly games and gorgeous country setting make this fall festival truly special. And I’m not alone: Fall on the Farm is one of the most beloved fall festivals in Cincinnati, as you’ll see if you go on a weekend! (The festival is also open during the week, with discounted admission, making it a fun mid-week option if you can swing it!)
Here are 5 reasons your family will love Fall on the Farm at Blooms & Berries:
The giant slide
There are several play areas at Blooms & Berries (including a corn kernel “sand box” for digging and playing in), but the giant slide is truly the main attraction. This is always a big hit with my kids, who tirelessly climb the two-story stairwell all afternoon.
The farm animals
If you love farm animals, but don’t love that “farm smell” that hangs around, Blooms & Berries is your place. The barnyard at Blooms was by far the best we’ve been to. The animals are spread out across the grounds in large, very clean and well-kept pens. There were signs on each of the pens with fun facts and information about each animal. You’ll see cows, sheep, goats, geese, turkeys, chickens and mini donkeys. All of the animals are very friendly and my kids love petting them.
Sunflowers!
Cincinnati may be home to a state-renowned sunflower festival, but Blooms & Berries’ sunflowers are truly spectacular. You’ll find them early in the season (like, now!), and the fields of tall, towering sunflowers that shine brilliantly gold and yellow are something to behold. (They also make an amazing backdrop for a family photo!)
Pumpkins, pumpkins, pumpkins
As soon as you enter Blooms & Berries, you’ll be greeted by piles of the most perfectly round and vibrantly orange pumpkins you’ve ever seen. We like to grab a huge wheelbarrow and fill it to the brim with Jack-o-Lantern pumpkins, ghost pumpkins, tiny gourds — and always one “monster” pumpkin. There’s also a tiny pumpkin patch for toddlers, and the option to take a hayride out to pick-your-own pumpkin.
Tradition
We first went to Fall on the Farm at Blooms & Berries two years ago (!), and while so much has changed with my family, this is a tradition that we all look forward to. Recreating the same pictures of my kids year after year – seeing how much they’ve grown – fills my heart with so much pride and love. These memories are something I’ll always cherish – and this is a fall tradition I hope to continue with my family year after year. (Because of course, we have yet to conquer the 7-acre corn maze, but I know that one year, we will!)
Fall on the Farm at Blooms & Berries runs daily through Oct. 31. Admission is $11/person on Saturdays and Sundays, and $8/person Mondays-Fridays.
