Summer break’s here, and we’ve got a list of awesome, kid-approved activities that won’t break the bank! From Touch a Trucks to free summer movies, parks activities to festivals, this June is full of family fun!

Great Parks Free Entry Day
July 1 at all Great Parks locations
As a special thank you for their continued support of Great Parks, Hamilton County residents can enjoy free entry into any Great Park on the first day of June, July and August without the need for a Motor Vehicle Permit.

Free Family Movie Night at Madeira-Silverwood Presbyterian Church (MSPC)
June 2 at 6 p.m.
We will be watching Moana, eating popcorn and pizza, and having a blast! The curtain drops at 6:00pm and the fun lasts until 8:30pm in the fellowship hall on the lower level. Find out more at www.madeirachurch.org. This event is FREE and open to everyone!

Creature Feature
June 2 at 11 a.m. at Woodland Mound
Join the naturalist at the wet playground today to see a few live animals before the little ones play.

Free Junior Clinic
June 3 from 1-2 p.m. at Winton Woods/Meadow Links & Golf Academy
This free one-hour introduction teaches basic safety, etiquette and full swing fundamentals to junior golfers. For ages 7–17.

Great Parks Foundation’s Adventure Fest
June 3 from 12-8 p.m. at Mitchell Memorial Forest
Discover new adventures for all ages. Activities include paddle sports, slacklining and mountain bike demos, trail races, gear swap, orienteering, climbing wall, animal encounters and more. Event also features local food trucks, beer and bands. Some activities require paid registration. Learn more at greatparksfoundation.org.

Creekin’ in the Park
June 4 at Sharon Woods/Sharon Centre
Get your feet wet as we enter the creek and experience some of Ohio’s amazing wildlife up close. A limited number of nets will be provided or you may bring your own. Wear closed-toe shoes and dress appropriately.

Mother’s Day Celebration at The Beach
June 4 from 10 a.m.-10 p.m.
All Moms get in free on Sunday, June 4th with a paid admission at Admission Window Only. Not valid with any other discount offer or ticket.

Sharonville Touch a Truck
June 5 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Sharonville Convention Center
This popular Touch a Truck event in Sharonville is a great way to kick off the summer! You’ll see the tall fire truck ladders as you approach the Convention Center. Free.

Free Movies for Kids
Mondays and Wednesdays through August
This summer, enjoy Free Movies for Kids on Mondays and Wednesdays at Kenwood Theatre, Esquire Theatre, Mariemont Theatre and Eastgate Brew & View. All movies carry a rating of “PG” or under and start at 10:30 a.m. Check website for a list of titles.

ManaTotZZZ
Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. at the Sleepy Bee in Oakley
Join Miss Sarah at the Oakley Sleepy Bee for blue manatee tradition of great books, easy laughs, and sweet songs. Most appropriate for ages under 4. Ongoing on Tuesdays — certain holidays excluded. Call to confirm story time!

Try It! Fitness Classes
Tuesdays at 7 p.m. at Winton Woods/Harbor
Take part in a free outdoor fitness class in the park! Weekly classes are taught by YMCA of Greater Cincinnati instructors and rotate offerings between hip hop aerobics, kickboxing, cardio combo and Zumba.

Wednesdays on the Green
Wednesdays at 7 p.m. at the Clifton Cultural Arts Center
We’ve lined up musical performances from May 31 – August 9, and we can’t wait for a summer filled with music, dancing, hands-on art making for kids, picnics, summer treats and shared memories. Kick back in the grass, enjoy the show and meet some new friends on the beautiful lawn at CCAC. This week’s food vendors are C’est Cheese and streetpops.

Summer Cinema at Washington Park
Wednesdays through August
Movies start at dusk — June’s titles are: Billy Madison on June 7th; The Force Awakens on June 14th; Hairspray on June 21st and 10 Things I Hate About You on June 28th.

Meet the Taco Dragon!
June 8 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at Brazee Street Studios
Meet one of the dragons from the bestselling DRAGONS LOVE TACOS series!
This special event will feature stories, a few songs, and an opportunity to take a picture with the
Taco Dragon! This FREE costumed character event will take place at Brazee Street Studios in Oakley. Line numbers will be given to families upon arrival. To get one of the first 30 “friend of the manatee” line numbers, click here! Most appropriate for ages 2 and up.

Smale Kids Day
June 8 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Smale Riverfront Park
Smale Kids Day features fun entertainment for kids, plus lots of family friendly activities. Zak Morgan performs at 11 a.m.!

Meet Author Tom Booth!
June 9 at 10 a.m. at Blue Manatee
Author and Illustrator Tom Booth will share his newest book, DON’T BLINK with our friends at blue manatee. This interactive picture book will delight young readers with adorable illustrations, and also challenge them to a staring contest!

Queen City Vintage Base Ball Festival
June 10 at Heritage Village
On Saturday, June 10, 2017, the Cincinnati Vintage Base Ball Club will host two other vintage teams from the Midwest for a day of base ball as it was played in 1869. The event is being held at Heritage Village in beautiful Sharon Woods Park in Sharonville, Ohio. Free; donations accepted.

Summer Adventure at Brain Camp
June 11 at Deer Park Library
Come explore the wonderful world all around us during this week-long Brain Camp. We will read great stories, play fun games, experiment with science & create themed crafts. There’s so much more to explore at your neighborhood Library during the Summer Adventure. For children entering grades 1-5. Registration is required. (For more summer Brain Camps, click here!)

Story Time at IKEA
Tuesdays at 1 p.m.
Join us for story time in our Restaurant. Kids can enjoy classic tales of adventure and craft time after the story. Parent must be present with child.

Springfield Touch a Truck
June 16 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at 9150 Winton Road (Civic Center parking lot)
Big trucks have always amazed kids! Springfield Township’s Touch A Truck event will introduce over 50 different vehicles (and a helicopter) to kids of all ages. Participating vehicles include a variety of service, luxury and food trucks. Meet police officers and fire fighters. A mobile DJ will emcee the event. Bring your cameras. Kids will have a chance to climb aboard many of the trucks!

Horsing Around Funday
June 18 from 1-4 at the Taft Museum
Saddle up for this silly Funday! See horses in art when you visit Treasures of British Painting 1400-2000: The Berger Collection, and meet a real mini horse and some of his barnyard friends from Honey Hill Farm, 1-2 p.m. Get giggly at the Art Cart with some Appalachian toys, and then enjoy a performance of circus tricks by My Nose Turns Red Youth Circus, 2-3 p.m. No reservations required.

Fatherhood Community Celebration
June 18 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at Sawyer Point
Each Father’s Day, Talbert House hosts this FREE event for dads and families to enjoy a day of games and entertainment, arts and crafts, food and beverages, live music, sports activities, and more.

World Explorer: Food
June 19 from 3-4 p.m. at the Main Library
Try unusual foods from around the world.

Nature’s Fireworks
June 23 from 8:30-10 p.m. at Mitchell Memorial Forest/Wood Duck Trail
Let’s enjoy nature’s firefly fireworks while we learn about how and why they light up.

West Chester Touch a Truck
June 23 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Square @ Union Centre
Check out all the cool trucks and vehicles that serve our community every day. Fire trucks, police vehicles, snow plows, helicopters and more will be on display. This is a free, family-friendly event on The Square.

Summer Concerts in the Park
June 24 from 7-9 p.m. at Woodland Mound/Seasongood Nature Center
Enjoy a free evening of music with 4th Day Echo!

Sun-Day Sunday Sundae
June 24 from 1-4 p.m. at the Cincinnati Observatory Center
The Sun is the star attraction and you can learn all about our nearest stellar neighbor. Sun-day Sunday Sundaeincludes short talks about the Sun, tours of our historic buildings, and safe viewing of sunspots and solar flares from our 1845 telescope (weather permitting). Creek Exploration
June 25 at Glenwood Gardens
Let’s go exploring with a naturalist! Together we’ll hike to the creek and look for the wildlife that call it home. A limited number of nets and containers will be available for use. Wear closed-toe shoes and dress appropriately.

All About the Fire Truck
June 27 at 3 p.m. at the Symmes Branch
Learn all about fire trucks and being a firefighter with the Loveland Symmes Fire Department! FREE.
